What makes an AI pilot reversible?
An AI pilot is reversible when it has one bounded workflow slice, approved information, limited access, a working fallback, predefined evidence and stop conditions, a decision date, and a tested closeout path for accounts, connectors, records, data, billing, and support.
What the team should be able to see
- Define the baseline and acceptance evidence before the trial result is known.
- Name an owner who can stop the pilot and invoke the fallback.
- Close with an explicit adopt, revise, extend, stop, or escalate decision and complete cleanup.
What this definition cannot establish
- A successful pilot does not establish suitability for other workflows, people, information, or environments.
- Reversibility becomes harder after broad integration, record migration, dependency growth, or loss of the former process.
